I need 2 know what wine to serve with different foods. The holidays are approaching and I have no clue and I don't want to appear an basket case. For example: What wines go best with Fish(trout, catfish, scrimp, lobster, ham, turkey and duck). Reds or whites, sweet....medium or non-sweet. I need help fast!!!!

Welcome to the board, Rusty. Look just down the board at the Wine/Food Affinities thread. Open that thread, then use the search button to find discussions on foods that you want match with wines. For example, search on turkey, and you'll call up the discussions on pairing wines with turkey, and see tasting notes on wines that worked well (and probably some that didn't, so you can avoid those). It's not hard to do that kind of search, and will be much quicker for you than for us to try to guess the foods and preparation styles you're planning to use.

I know I'm getting up in years, but when did ham, turkey and duck become fish?

"I know I'm getting up in years, but when did ham, turkey and duck become fish?"

I believe the classification of 1996.

I'm thinkin sciraz with the scrimp.

Serious answer: You're looking for a complete lesson in food / wine matching here. Nothing wrong with that but.... how much do you really have to know to pair up this meal? Why not go to the store where you would buy the wines and ask for suggestions from one of the staff. They will want to know your budget, just like anyone here would need to know.
