Does anyone know what wine I am talking about? It is an old wine that they used to drink in England after dinner. It can be served white or red, usually it is found white. It is served in a scotch glass typically, on the rocks. It is very sweet and served with or after dessert.Thanks so much for your help!

Sounds like port - a wine fortified with brandy.

You're better off with a sherry than a white port IMHO.
