Hello I am planning a romantic evening with my husband and wouls like to know what kind of wine or champagne to buy. I do not like wines that are strong or that I can really taste the alcohol in. Any recommendations would be appriciated.

Hi Tcta, and welcome to the Wine Board. Recommend you call 1-800-Wineexpo for recommendations. Short of that, look for a Spanish Cava in Brut (dry) or Extra Dry (off dry).

Monica

What does your hubby like? Would he like a champagne as it is?

If so, you can always buy some Cassis or Chambord (both are raspberry) and add it to your bubbly and he can have it as it is.

As for wine you can go with a sweeter Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc.

Are you of the same taste in wine?

Cassis is a black currant liqueur I believe.
