I am looking to buy a nice red wine about 30.00. It is for my dad who drinks the wine to raise his HDL. I am not a wine drnker, so I am clueless. Dad does not like the merlot he drinks, but will not spend over 10.00 a bottle! BTW, he only buys merlot because someone told him it was red. Please help me.

Thanks!!

Hi CR and welcome to the baord. Until your dad finds a wine he enjoys I would advise staying in the 10 range. Try some of the reds from Bogle or Cline. They make Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Syrahs, and Pinot Noirs. Have him try each of the varietals until he finds one he likes. You might also try a French Bougalais or even the current Nouveau Bougalais' that are on the market. Keep him drinkin'! WW
