Any suggestions to go with either
a)shrimp scampi pizza (no red sauce) or
b)hamburgers?
Thanks

Look for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzio Cerasuolo.

Funny, I tried a Thurston-Wolf Blue Franc (Lemberger) tonight. I thought to myself that this is the quintessential burger wine.

You're right, Bucko. Lemberger is a great burger wine. But try buying some outside of West Coast area. I've never seen any of it for sale here. I have to get friends to bring me Kiona Lemberger when they come visit me.

But, how does the lemburger go with the shrimp pizza with white sauce. That was the trick with the question. Am sure that lemburger would make a great hamburger wine, based with it's heritage, but have never seen it anywhere.

I'm still trying to visualize that pizza -- yikes!

Shrimp on pizza! I am mortified...

In the East lemberger is being pushed by a fellow at the Geneva Agricultural Station as an alternative red vinifera that can make it in cold climates much easier than Pinot Noir, et al. He is correct, but lemberger has few who follow it, and a name that makes people wonder.

What a classic case of shoot the messenger. Dozer admits right up front that he is asking a difficult if not silly question. Two of you ignor half the question, and the rest of you come along to shoot the messenger.
