Several years ago, on a college-budget, I purchased 3 wines I was determined to "cellar" and not open for several years. Well, it's been several years and I have realized that I may have been misguided. I would appreciate any advice on the following wines (drink now? hold longer? too late?) *The fourth wine was a gift my mother brought me from Italy.

Thanks, petunia

1. Stag's Leap Merlot Napa Valley 1995
2. Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 1997
3. Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel 1996
4. DellaVilla Chianti Clasico Riserva 1993

Basing it off a general California/varietial vintage chart.

1)Drink or hold, not a very good year
2)Hold, a good year
3)Drink or hold, mixed qualities
4)Drink or Hold

Hi Petunia and welcome to the board. Disregarding vintage charts and relying on having drunk them suckers....The 95 is at the top of its' game... drink that beauty... the 96 is a ditto of the above, and the 97 can be held a bit longer if you have pristine cellaring(which I doubt.) Have no ideeeer on the 93 Dago Red. Have fun and keep on keepin' on. WW (PS...Knew your cousin
Ruby Begonia intimately )

You weren't misguided, those are some good ones.
