I recently purchased a bottle of Laurier Pinot Noir (1995 vintage) for $19. It was vinted and bottled by Laurier Vineyards, Kenwood, Sonoma County, CA. I have never purchased wine from this particular vinter. I purchased the bottle for two reasons: Pinot noir is one of my favorite reds, and 1995 was supposed to have been a good year for California Pinot noirs (according to the vintage charts on WineSpectator.com). I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this particular winemaker, and has tried their wines before. I have searched several internet wine stores and have found nothing by this particular winemaker.

The words "vinted and bottled by" essentially means that the wine was made elsewhere and then bottled under Laurier supervision, at its facility.

If you are indeed a big Pinot Noir fan, please go the section titled Pinot Noir/Red Burgundy. At the upper right where it says "Show topics from" click on "last year." You will find a wealth of material on the subject. I particularly like the thread that started on 12/17/99.

Thank you Foodie and Innkeeper for your helpful information. I am new to the world of wine but am learning more every day. I enjoy experimenting with different wines and I must say that so far, Pinot Noir is the best I have tasted.
