My wife and I love wine, both reds and whites, but we have not found a SPARKLING wine we have enjoyed. The only one that we liked at all was Chardon Riche extra dry. It reminded us a bit of German riesling (which we love) - not super sweet, but subtle honey and citrus. We could do without the yeasty, toast elements, though. We have learned that extra dry is nicer for us than Brut. Out price limit is $20, $25 if something SUPER was out there for the price. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We bow before you in great respect of your superior knowledge!

Have you tried any of the Extra Dry Spanish Cavas? They are more like $10-$15 than the price range you are talking about. There may be some New World sparklers in your price range, but any real Champagne would be very difficult to find.

We've tried Cristalino's BRUT but haven't exactly been bowled over (but then again it was $7. But then again it is highly regarded.) If they make an Extra Dry version, we'll try that. At our wine shop, there are many sparklers between $10 - $20. A handful are extra dry. Just trying to save a little money weeding out the stuff we wouldn't like.
Thanks for your help!
