i read a couple of threads and im still not sure if some of the novice people have the same taste, but my fiance and i would love a sweet red wine. A red that is not dry or strong but rich in flavor. Also a good sparkling white that we could use at our wedding. My sis in-law had a white that had a nutty taste and it was very smooth; i know that i'd like a smooth taste but also a flavorful one and not so much of a nutty flavor. Help me please.

You could try a bottle of a Lambrusco. It's a red that still tastes like a red with a sweetness characteristic. If you just want something red in a glass, Many wineries make a type they will call something like a "soft red", or "tiger red" or... These are sweet, but they don't really give the full bodied feel or linguring after ke and wanttaste of a nice red wine. So.. it all depends on what you like or what to try. WP

If you are looking for wines to serve at your wedding I would use a Merlot for red, a chardonnay for white and an inexpensive "extra dry" bubbly for your guests.

Don't panic about the words "extra dry" because in the wine world it actually means the exact opposite! Extra dry is sweeter than brut and easier to drink.

I wouldn't serve a sweet red for your guests. You can have any wine at your table that pleases you, but many people won't like the Lambrusco. They will be looking for a wine with a little more substance.

Drink what you like and serve them something traditional. That's what I would do.
