I am just learning about wines now and am looking for a good book on wines. I want to be able to learn how to tell a good wine and how to reconcile what my pallette likes!

If someone could send me one or two good websites or a list of a few good books, I would appreciate it.

The New Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia is a great book. It really covers it all. I bought mine on the internet which is about 30% cheaper than in stores. Here is a link to the best price I found. Just do a search for the above title.

"Wine for Dummies" is a good basic guide that I still consult. Andrea Immer's "Great Wines Made Simple" helps you set up taste comparisons of some of the well known wine grapes and regions to determine your preferences and increase your palate knowledge. Welcome to this board.
