I've been thinking, I wonder how the grapes that make the wines taste as grapes. For example, when I go to the grocery store, they never have merlot grapes on display. Is there an easy way to buy a small amount for the sake of just eating them? Are wine making grapes typicly only grown for the sake of making wine?

To answer your last question, yes.

Wine grapes are generally small, filled with pits, too. They are not grown the way large, often waterlogged, table grapes are grown.

Thanks Foodie. That explains why I've never seen them in the store quite well.
