I've received an armanagc bottle 1987 - chateau d'armagnac.

what's is armagnac? is that a refined wine or cognac?

Like Cognac, Armagnac is a region where French brandy is produced. Some historians claim Armagnac is older than the Cognac region for brandy production, but that Cognac's better location (for import/export) helped it to excel in recognition.

There are differences in production methods too.
