Hello,

We are looking to find a nice white or red wine that has some sweetness to it. Do not care for the wines that have a heavy or perfume faste. Prefer to spend around $10-$15.
Having company this weekend, please help. We will be serving pasta one evening and seafood the next.

Thank you,

Sweet wines are usually used as desert wines.

Could I suggest you drink a drier wine with your meal?

If it is pasta, then I would suggest any good Italien red wine; white with pesto, seafood or creamy sauce. You can get a pretty good Chianti (red) or a Montepulchiano d'Abruzzo (red) in your price range. For a white wine try an Orvieto Secco. These are generaly medium-bodied wines you might like to try. For a lighter wine with your pasta you could try Valpolicella (red) or Trebbiano (white).

For seafood I'd suggest a Chardonnay (white) or one of the lighter reds based on Cabernet Franc, Gamay or Pinot Noir or a Valpolicella or Bardolino. You can purchase any one of these within your price range and find a possibly satisfying wine.

Check with your local wine merchant, he will be able to provide suggestions and possibly guide you to a selection you will enjoy.
