I like drinks with a sweet taste and would like to gather a few bottles (not too expensive) of different sweet, smooth wines. All suggestions are appreciated. Hi DM. For reds you may try other Lambruscos; they do get better than Riunite. Also check out your local Texas wineries. It is my experiance that just about all the wineries east of the Rocky Mts make wines in all shades and levels of sweetness. For rose' try most any White Zinfandel. Despite the name, White Zinfandel is not white but rose. This is because it comes from a red grape. I like the one from Buehler. For whites look for any Riesling that does not say "dry" or "troken" on the label from either America or Germany. Also look for Vouvray from the Loire Valley of France. Make sure it doesn't say dry or sec on the label. Same goes for Chenin Blanc from America.

If you like sweet wines, some of the Kosher wines (like Manoshevitz) get rather sweet as well. Outside of the kosher wines, there is a white merlot (also a rose) I enjoyed made by Forrest Glenn. A Pinot Grigio (which is a white wine) may also be to your liking.

Any suggestions on a sweet Chardonnay? Rodney Strong is on the sweet side. Any other?

Have you tried the sweet Rieslings--German Rieslings at Spatlese (late harvested grapes) or Auslese level (specially selected ripe grapes)? California and Washington also produce some late harvest Rieslings (Arrowood, Greenwood Ridge and others). Some Vouvray (French wine made from Chenin Blanc grape) is sweet. You might also like Viognier, another white wine.

Moscato D'asti is also another great sweet wine. Like the the lumbrusco, it is semi-sparkling and fairly inexspensive.
