on martha stewart's web site, she suggested medeira wine mixed with butter as a baster. i need to know what kind of wine this is, sweet or dry, is it a name brand or type of winne, i am assuming it is white, but i'm not sure of this either. please help me....

Hi Tlr, and welcome to the Wine Board. Maderia is an ancient sweet wine from the Canary Islands, a Portugese possession. It is a type of wine with many brands and prices. The color is that of amber ale. Unless you are one of Martha's neighbors, would not ever consider to combine it with butter, and baste turkey. Sweet Cizano would provide at least as interesting flavor at a much lower cost.
