- Doodlemom - 04-18-2006 People who don't like Chardonnay. This is my first post. My DH and I are red wine drinkers - Cabernet mostly. We are hosting a dinner at a local steak house and must select wines to be served. We know most of our guests will want a Chardonnay. We like the Groth Chardonnay, but that's not on the menu. TIA for any suggestions. Diane PS entre choices are filet, chicken and salmon - winoweenie - 04-19-2006 Hi Doodle and welcome to the board. If you'll list your choices I'm sure someone who drinks them SWs' can give you some help. 'Twont be me how-so-ebberlt. WW - Innkeeper - 04-19-2006 Hi Diane, what WW is referring to is what he calls "sissy whites" as he is stricktly a red wine drinker except for sparklers. If you can bring you own wine I would suggest Toad Hollow or a Maconnais such as Macon Villages or Saint Veran. Otherwise as WW suggests, post you choices here and we will suggest the least worst. - wondersofwine - 04-19-2006 If the menu is steak, I would think many would opt for a red wine. Agree with Innkeeper's suggestions however if some insist on white wine. |
