Hi Ya'll,

I've been going through a lot of wine in the past three weeks, some of it went down the drain, but most of it went down the hatch. I'm trying to figure out what I like, and I'm getting closer, but this could take the rest of my life.

The Mondavi is, in my humble opinion, very good. It's called "Private Selection" but I got it in the grocery store, so it must not be THAT private. It's almost a sweet wine, very, very smooth, very drinkable, a lot of cherry flavor. I highly recommend it. I think I paid $10. Pinot is quickly becoming one of my favorite wines. For A MASS PRODUCED WINE it doesn't get much better than this.

Years ago it was called Coastal - they changed the name when everyone else jumped on the bandwagon using that name on the label as well.

Given the price point it's decent and yes, it is mass produced.

If you check on the board you will probably see other wines in the same price catagory +/- $3.00 which will be better.

For most of us it does take the rest of our lifes to sample all the varieties of wine to determine our preferences and then there are still so many we never get to sample! I love Pinot Noir myself so glad to see another fan of that grape come aboard.
