Please advise what wine I should server at a mexican fiesta I will have later this month.
approx 50 people will be there. I live in Seattle and like most northwest wines.

With Mexican foods, I usually serve beer.

Go to The Spanish Table (a WONDERFUL store in Seattle selling not just Spanish food and wine but also paella pans, CDs of great flamenco and more) and ask them for the cripest, most refreshing Spanish Rose they have. Buy lots, people will pound it!

Welcome to the board, P. You don't mention your budget.... if you want to stay on the low end, look for Borsao Campo de Borja, a Spanish blend of 75% Granacha (Grenache) and 25% Tempranillo, all of $5.69 per bottle at Costco. If you're willing to spend triple that, a California Zin works pretty well with Mexican food. Or default to a nice Mexican beer; I prefer Dos Equis Amber. With 50 people, I'd plan on buying two cases of wine, since half a bottle per person is a reasonable consumption rate at dinner (at least, for some people.... not necessarily the members of this board).
