Hi all! I was wondering what is the best wines to go with a lamb chop dinner or a scallop dinner/w caramel and a cream/fruit dessert

I've only tasted one wine so I do not have any preferences.

I like Shiraz or Syrah with lamb chops.

I'm not a fan of scallops but what you describe seems right for a Chardonnay, if the caramel is part of the dessert and not the scallop dinner; the way you listed it made me unsure of which.

Hmmmm.........
Scallops with Caramel....... Interesting. I can just picture a caramel coated scallop on a stick.........

Welcome to the Board First Timer. The way I read your post you are having a caramel and cream fruit dessert. I would go for a white dessert wine such a late harvest Riesling with it. Ask you retailer for something from Germany sweeter than Auslese.

Agree with Foodie on the Syrah/Shiraz with the lamb chops.

With scallops and other shellfish I like Sauvignon Blanc such as a Sancerre from France.
