Are merlot wines served chilled?

Hi Davis, and welcome to the Wine Board. No, but they should be served at around 65 degrees F. To determine that take the temperature with a thermometer in the room the wine has been stored in, even if a short time. If it has to be raised five or ten degrees, don't worry about it; it will get there soon enough. If the temperature has to be lowered, put it in the fridge for ten minutes per degree, or into a bucket filled with ice and water for one minute per degree.
