Found in the attic. Is it a) drinkable; and b) of any value?

Hi Terry, and welcome to the Wine Board. A. Probably not, and B. Very little. Opened a '78 a couple of years ago, and it was going down hill, though still pleasant. Can't imagine adding twenty one years to it!

Hi Terry and welcome to the board. I wouldn't throw away the bathwater with the baby in it just yet. I had a 59 La Mission a year ago and it was stunning with at least another 15 years before peaking. Twere a solid 99-100 pointer. Tho Smith Haut Lafite isn't quite on par to La Mission, but like the La Mission it is still a classified wine of the Graves district ( Cru Classe). You might spend a little more time investigating this wine, and at the very least, invite me over and we'll open that hummer. I'll bring snacks. WW The 59 was a classic vintage.

The operative word here is **ATTIC.** Any wine found in an attic is long since dead from improper storage.

I saw that too Bucko but also noticed this attic was in the UK. A better chance than if'n it 'twere in Phoenix. WW
