Went over to attend niece's wedding shower, and got taped to pick up a few goodies at Spec's to add to the two cases we took over with us. Holy smokes, what a jernt! Have heard about it for years, and use their website (specsonline.com) to check regional availability and comparative prices.... but first time for a visit. Huge facility! Staff person every ten feet, very helpful, well-labeled sections and aisles, kind of a candy-store-for-adults atmosphere. Ran in with B-I-L, spent about $250, and ran back out again; teeming hordes of people, most leaving with two-wheeled dollies piled high. Glad it's four hours away, couldn't afford for it to be closer. They have branches all over town and also a store now in Austin, but the place in downtown Houston is still the Big Kahuna. Manoman. Nice!

Sounds a little like Roberto's digs. In terms of volume. I'm sure Spec's has more diversity (can't believe I used that word!).

Spec's Downtown is one of the things I missed the most when I left Houston.

That is why it is good for me not to live near a The Wine Club or a K and L....I would be broke.... You have a four hour drive but you can use a trunk...I'm limited to two pieces of cargo and what I can afford to ship.....

My lil' ole pushers jernt isn't nearly that large but in all other aspects they seem to be similar. They manage to keep me a busted sucker too! Speaking of Roberto, we haven't had the pleasure for a BERRY long time. Must be down south with his baby. WW

Hey, Eng, we can help you rid yourself of that nasty, excess discretionary income, as well (just got in some Terra Valentine Cab and some Ladera Napa, Lone Canyon and Howell Mountain Cabs).

KC, you always did look out for me. I'll be in this week! I'd love a few of those.

Tonight picked up an order of...gulp...

6 pack 05 Alain Hudelot-Noellat Vosne Romanee
6 pack 05 Comte Armand Pommard Les Clos Epeneaux
6 pack 05 Domaine des Lambrays, Clos des Lambrays, Grand Cru

05 Roumiers are in next week.....I'm not even gonna open my eyes..... the 05 Bonnes Mares is completely wacked in pricing......I'm hopeing to be able to afford the Morey Saint Denis.

...'it's been a painful evening.....ah hell what the else is money for...

KC, have you had the '99 Mas Dumas Gassac? This thing should be coming out of its dumb phase now.......I've not had one though. What nights are you in? Thursday night being snowstorm night, I probably won't get in that night.

- Kcwhippet - 12-12-2007

Schedules are a bit wierd this time of year because of all the holidays. I've just done eight days straight, so I have tomorrow and Thursday off. Then I open Friday (9-5), mid shift Saturday (11-7) and off Sunday and Monday. Next five days are Tues open, Wed close (1-9), Thurs open, Fri open and Sat close (2-10).
