- fangi - 07-12-2002 Thanks HW, for your advice and timely response. I bought the 1994 Larousse for $4.00. The seller said it's is very good condition and that he's selling it so cheaply because he's moving and doesn't want to lug stuff around. Fair enough, right? His rating was unmarred. Woo Hoo! cheers, Brett ps. For anyone looking for good deals on used and out of print (wine) books I've found half.com to be a valuable resource. Of course, you have to weed through the career sellers and look for deals from regular folks just trying to get rid of stuff, but it can sometimes be really worth it. I've purchased many a wine book using this method. - Innkeeper - 07-12-2002 Fangi, we love having you on the Board. You don't have to start a new thread everytime you make a post. You can add to the first one each time. Keeps things all together. - fangi - 07-12-2002 Ik, You do? Wow, thanks i say, doe-eyed. I like being here. um, yeah i realized i forgot to use the "reply" button after the fact...whoops. hee hee. cheers, brett - winoweenie - 07-12-2002 I agree whole-pumper with you on the 1/2 .com site. Have found some really good tomes there, and as you pointed, watch fer them hustlers. WW - hotwine - 07-12-2002 Rustlers?! Who said rustlers?! Git a rope! Oh. Nevermind. Zzzzzz - winoweenie - 07-13-2002 I see the " Water-Logged One " has been resussicated. By the way.....PRAISE THE LORD, IT DONE RAINRD HERE LAS'NITE!!!!!!!ww. - hotwine - 07-13-2002 We're getting another storm this morning. Must have already dumped an inch. She's grateful, 'cause it curtailed my Saturday morning wine-shopping. glub-glub... - winedope1 - 07-13-2002 Dear Hotwine- sometimes if things get slow, the boss will try to rope our patients. only the healthy ones, of course. he spent 10 years in Oklahoma and still wears his boots in surgery. - hotwine - 07-13-2002 I know how he feels, WD. It took me a while after the Army to realize that my ankles needed the support of boots, after getting them stove up so often in jumping off of perfectly good choppers. So for over 20 years, I've not even owned a pair of shoes. Your boss is lucky that he gets to toss a rope over a critter when he feels like it; I'm sure most docs would love to be able to do that to their recalcitrant patients. Eh, Buckster? - winoweenie - 07-14-2002 His'n wuld haffa' be hobbled fer him to rope 'em. WW |
