- Sandra33 - 10-26-2007 I enjoy sweet wines. I was wondering if Sangria is a good wine? Does anyone have any recipes? - Innkeeper - 10-26-2007 Sangria is a mixed drink, not a made wine. Here is our recipe: This recipe come from a thirty one year old source called: Foods of the World from Time Life Books; Wines & Spirits. For 1 quart: 1/2 C Superfine Sugar 1 C Cold Water 1 Lime, thinly sliced 1 Orange, thinly sliced 12-16 ice cubes 1 bottle Red Wine (preferably Rioja) Mix all together in a 1 1/2 - 2 quart pitcher. The wine doesn't have to be Rioja. Any red wine will do. We usually look for the most inexpensive red Spanish wine in the store. - winophite - 11-03-2007 Hi S33, while probably not truly a sangria...whenever my wife opens a bottle of sweet wine that I end up finishing the last 2/3's of, I simply pour it over ice and add 7-up. The sweet stuff alone is hard for me to palate without the fizz. WP |
