hello

i am Ryan Nagode from the Cleveland Institute of Art and i am doing a houswares project on Wine Keys. Iwould like to know anyones reactions to wine keys out in the market place now and what your thoughts are on improving on these designs. Ultimatly i would like to produce a Wine Key which will elegantly open a bottle of wine for consumer and restraunt usage. Please let me know of any thoughts on what is missing from wine keys and corkscrews that are out in the market place today

than-you

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "wine key"? I know corkscrews, but have not heard the term "wine key".
In my opinion, the plunger portion of a corkscrew (the part that goes into the cork itself) is too narrow. Many times I have had corks break, because they were too dry. It seems to me that that would be less likely to happen, if the diameter of the plunger was just slightly smaller than the diameter of the neck of the wine bottle.

the wine key is a term for the waiter's style of wine cork screws

thanx for your comments
