Can anyone suggest how I can acquire plastic (white foam) shippers to use in bringing wine back from overseas? I am looking to maximize the number or bottles I bring back and thus need to come within the weight and dimensional limits that the overseas air carriers impose. I am located near Boston, MA and can be reached on this bulleting board or by e-mail at wfseq@aol.com.

I understand that the plastic shippers are non-bio-degradeable. Therefore, anyone who has received a shipment of wines domestically should have one or more of these lying around. I am looking to acquire at least 2 12 bottle shippers and several smaller number of bottle shippers. I am interested not only in the standard dimension 750 ML but also champagne sized, 500 ml and 375 ml sizes.

Hi Wfsesq, and welcome to the wine board. The best place to get them is at a winery. You have several withing easy driving distance. They normally run $10-12 for a twelve bottle case. Would send one myself, but I live further from my UPS station than you live from wineries.
