Another great wine from Musar. I've been drinking their 01 and 02's lately but had a chance to step back a few years. This wine is more evolved than the other two but had great density. Bordeaux ringer with some additional spicey notes, great balance and wonderful drinking. I drank half bottle before noticing that I had consumed that much. Not the best of deals at $50 but incredible deal at $25.

Had the opportunity to meet Serge back in the 70s. Helped a young man open a wine distributorship in Denver and bought half a pallate of his juice going back to 1955. When it's on it's GREAT but he occassionally misfires. The greatest story I heard from this very entertaining feller was how they stopped the civil war in the Barossa Valley so he could bring his harvests in. WW

Barossa Valley??? Didn't know Serge was harvesting in Australia. Thought he was in the Bekaa VAlley.

The '95s are drinking nicely right now, too. WW is right, when he's on, those wines are wonderful, and I swear they'd age forever.

Ive heard of Musar and have been meaning to try it. Now its a done deal. Also wondering about Middle Eastern/Israeli wines. This week some time I'm about to taste a grenache rose from Tunisia, where I lived in as a kiddo.

This time out of Magnum, the wine was indeed fresher, but felt much the same as the 750 bottle that I had last year. This is still a baby! Lovely stuff and no changes to notes.
