I've enjoyed many vintages of this wine. Does anyone have an opinion re the best years?

It's good in the existential years..couldn't resist.

I think you mean Caymus; I'll have to leave the real answer to your question to someone who knows.

FF... Don't really understand what you're getting at as most whites from Calif don't show a whale of a lot of varience unless it's a really crappy vintage. These are wines that are vinified to be drunk on release. Are you looking for some older vintages? They be over the hill. WW

Right you are Foodie! I should've checked for the literal, non-literary spelling; "Caymus."

I also should've been more specific in my question. I haven't had a Conundrum since '97 and I'm wondering if Caymus is still making this unusual (to me), spicy blend. I was recently told that the later years were "mellower" and I'm wondering if Caymus has changed the style of this wine.

My parents still have a couple of bottles of the '97 that I fear are past the mark despite good storage.

I have a Caymus Conundrum at home (I believe 2000). My introduction to this wine was at the Pinehurst Wine Festival around Labor Day. I thought the wine was interesting and a little on the sweet side. Perhaps they have made it more mellow although I'm not familiar with the earlier versions.
