Nice garnet in colour, lighter and translucent. Wine opens up nicely fragrant. Nose of violet, cherry, tobacco and leather and of a minerality. Light to medium body, with a nice nice clean mouthfeel (due to good balance between alcohol and acidity). This wine is clean, light and nicely balanced. It is still very fresh. Not a wine for those cold winter nights...but a great wine for those summer evening picnics.

Wine is from the appellation called Patrimonio(French island of Corisca). Also, a brand new varietal for me which is the nielluccio grape. $21.99 at K Lynch

Just curious but how did you come by this wine? Sounds good. One more grape I haven't tried. Would you compare this to a Burgundy?

I purchased it at Kermit Lynch's store in Berkeley. I've not seen this anywhere else but then again I've not looked.

I would say that this bottle had the subtly of a pinot with a similar body and density (those of less stuffing) but a taste more like a grenache (less brain food, more immediate enjoyment), with a brightness from a high acidity level.
