2000 Dry Creek Valley, Dry Chenin Blanc, Clarksburg, California, $8.75, 10,000 cases. Big tropical fruit aromas up-front, with a hint of herbaceousness in the background. Very food-friendly acidity greets the palate, with citrus, melon and white peach flavors. A nice example of California Chenin Blanc. 87/90.

What a coincidence. A local shop is running a 20% off sale on summer whites. That 2000 DCV was among them and since we like the Loire CB's I decided to pick up a half case of DCV as a counterpoint. Got them at $7.20 net. Lokks like I did a good thing. Now I have to try one tonight to confirm it.
