A friend brought this to dinner (pizza) over the weekend. I'm sorry, I forget the winery. It was marked "semi-sweet" wine. Lord have mercy, if this was semi-sweet I can't imagine how sweet "sweet" would be! I like sweet wine, but this was like Welch's with a kick. It would probably make a nice pitcher of sangria. Sometime people ask us for a sweet recommendation. I'll keep this one in mind!

Might be a good idea to research the name of the producer because there are some nice dry ones from down there.

There's a very nice Bonarda made by Martilde from Italy. About $15 retail. It's easy to find and a delicious wine. Comes in dry or semi sweet in either still or frizzante.

The bottle is out in the car, but I thought it wouldn't be appropriate to have it sitting on my desk in school! I'll write down the producer and let you know.

Interesting. We've had some wonderful and unique Bonarda wines, but they were always dry. I kinda like Bonarda wines -- they sometimes not only offer a great change-of-pace from the usual same-ole-same-ole, but they also can be great QPR wines. The best one I've had recently is a 2004 Tittarelli from Mendoza (Argentina). I think it runs around $11 down here.

Well, I'm gaining on it. The maker is Byblos. The bottle says Sweet Bonardo, a semi-sweet wine. It's from the Mendoza valley. It had a kosher notice printed on the label. I forgot to write down the year.
