My sister and I shared this the day before Thanksgiving in her new Riedel glasses (not sure which model, but they were BIG!). Maybe it was partly these wonderful glasses, but this was a real nice, flavorful wine that retails for only around $10. The nose was primarily of stewed cherries leading to flavors of equal parts dark cherries and juicy blackberries. The texture was of a medium body with good acidity and the finish was crisp. I thought I was really the wine connoiseur in the family, but if this is a testament, then little brother (me) could learn a thing or two from big sister. And it's like that with everything else, so why should this be different!

On turkey-day itself, there was a host of more wines to be sampled. I wonder if anybody else feels a bit like an undercover wine detective, using get-togethers like this to sample new wines. To the casual observer, we're just enjoying a few glasses of wine with everybody else, but secretly we're building up the memory bank of wines for future reference. I wish there were more of these family affairs!

Good to see the positive review of the Red. I've enjoyed Llano wines for 20 years, dating back to my Lubbock days. The Signature White is often quite pleasant.
