This was one of several wines sampled tonight with friends.
Very dark purple almost opaque. Nose of mature plum and blueberry. Flavors that match with a note of chocolate on a smooth, lush frame. This was a very easy drinking wine and although I enjoyed it, very one dimensional and a bit flabby. 13% Alc/vol. $15
I don't get all the hype over this wine.

Don't form permanent opinions based on the 98 vintage -- it was a tough one. I find the Zins from most producers the same way.

I wouldn't, but the high rating this wine has received from numerous sources didn't quite fit the taste buds!

Ah, I see the point now -- I have not seen any ratings on the wine.
