As with the Quintessa the tasting notes are sketchy because I was on vacation and was a little pre-occupied.

Again, 5 Bordeaux varietals and I can't find the percentages even on wineries website.

This one was more masculine than the Quintessa that we had and was perfect with the filet mignon with mushroom sauce.

The color was so deep it was opaque. You are hit with the deep berry fruit followed by dusty earth, cedar and a little tar mid palate.

The finish had really tame tannins, which I appreciate, but were still there. I would have liked a longer finish so I'm afraid that I opened it a tad too late.

Even with all that being said this was one beautiful bottle of wine.

Guess I'm going to be popping the 95' I have sooner than I expected.

I like the Tresor blend but have had more recent vintages only. Ferrari-Carano is a gorgeous winery to visit--extensive gardens and fun cellar tasting room. Thanks for your notes.

Have been a fan of this bottling since Hector was a pup. Until the early 90s' they called it their Reserve. Have posted on meeny of their vintages and can't remember a single dud. WW
