1999 Santa Julia, Malbec Reserva, Mendoza ($11 Is-Wine). Would have sworn I posted the first bottle of two, but must have forgot to hit the submit button. At any rate it is another delightful gift from Argentina. It presents itself with a deep lusty red color. Floral, plum, and smokey aromas on the nose and upfront tastes. Spicy, meaty complexity and silky smooth tannin race across the plate. Wonderful aftertaste. Matched with the second strogy in a row. Mmmmmmm good.

Hmmm, sure a lot of stroganoff being eaten up in Maine. Haven't made one in quite awhile. Since we have a bunch of Malbecs in the cellar, looks like I'm going to have to stock up on the sour cream.

Yeah, me too. I thought, what's IK doin' chawin' on a stogey? Then I realized, 'tweren't no cee-gar afterall.

What happened was we serve our stroganoff over shredded iceberg lettuce vice noodles (low carb). We had a head of iceberg "going" in the fridge. So we used half a head the first night, and the other half along with the other half pint of sour cream the next night. Not something we normally do.
