- Drew - 01-01-2009 Lodi. Hugh, dense and delicious. Completely opaque black/purple in the glass. Crushed blackberry, licorice and dark chocolate flavors overwhelm the tongue. Just a smattering on fine grain tannins on the very long finish. Almost an Oz style over the top wine but without the blueberry, coconut goop. Very, very good alone on a cold, windy night as a sipper. This would totally overwhelm any food pairing, imho. 15.5%Alc/vol. $25 Drew - TheEngineer - 01-01-2009 I agree Drew, this is a very large scale wine and I also enjoy this much. It has to be winter and a cold day - winoweenie - 01-01-2009 Winter???? What be Winter??? Oh Yeh! We are deep into it as it gets into the low 40s at nite and low 70s; during the frigid days. The mind is a terrible waste to use. WW - TheEngineer - 01-02-2009 WW, after spending XMas spread out across Toronto, Boston, Ottawa and even Victoria BC and Vancouver (in the space of 10 days....), there was winter everywhere!!! I almost fell walking off the plane in Victoria (they still have you walking on the tarmack). We had two Storms in Beantown and two while I was in Toronto..... the Whisky came to help much!!
