Beautiful Malbec and nice QPR. Dark opaque purple in the glass. Very smooth dark, lush dark fruit, blackberry, tar, some earthy notes and dark chocolate. Very nice, company loved it. 13.9%Alc/vol. $11

Agree with you all the way Drewski. Posted on it last night and sometime before on the Rhone/South of France thread. Malbec is the grape in Cahors you know. You also paid a couple of bucks too much.

I just found out the other day that in cohors, NO white wine is made(forbidden) and all wines there must be at least 70% malbec. The french are very strict with their wine laws. That being said, this month, Malbec has been the wine of choise for me and the lady. We've popped corks on 7 Malbecs recently from French(cohors), Chilian, and Argentinian producers. So far, I've prefered the dark, inky, earthy style of the French bottlings, but I can't say I didn't enjoy the more fruit foward bottles from South America. Bodega Norton wins the PQR battle at only $7 a btl.

Found one hiding in the beach house that I'd forgotton about. Absolutly at TTOIG. The chocolate notes were very upfront and the wine now is a total package in beautiful balance.
