This Red Mountain blend is 42% Merlot, 36% Cab Franc, 16% Cab Sauvignon, and 6% Petit Verdot. We recently gifted a few bottles of it, and we wanted to try it ourselves just to see how it was. Decanted for 30 minutes before 1st pour and through evening. Very dark red in color, with a nose of red fruits and some chocolate. Dense flavors that, as you'd probably imagine, took a few hours to really start opening up and showing, including some red and dark fruit flavors, some currant, and that chocolate element comes back in the middle. Anne said it was like sundae chocolate. There is a prickly spiciness to the end, and some dusty tannins coat the mouth. We enjoyed it, and think that it'll probably be a very nice wine in about 7 years. Not sure if we'll run out and buy another bottle or two because of the price, which is $48 here in Atlanta, but we may. 14.5% alc. FWIW, WE gave it a 95.

I've liked Andrew Will Sorella in the past (better than the Champoux) but don't buy it because of the price. I do have a bottle or two of Andrew Will wine stored that I will report on when I get around to opening it. Met the winemaker, Chris Camarda (sp?) when he visited Raleigh one time.
