- wondersofwine - 03-31-2003 Yamhill foothills, Willamette Valley, Oregon 13.6% alcohol by volume unfined, unfiltered aged 16 months in 34% new French oak; purple color, opaque density nose: closed from chilling in refrigerator; then dark cherries and boysenberries taste: boysenberries, dark cherries, blueberries seems to have a layered entry--dark and brooding overall but with a light, sprightly acidic high note delivers a lot of mouth presence, long finish high degree of viscosity forming "legs" on the side of the glass Had with ratatouille and boiled, buttered potatoes. I think I prefered the Ponzi pinot noir and Argyle, but that's a matter of style preference. I still have a Chehalem, a WillaKenzie, and possibly others to try. I still have one bottle so will hold it until 2006 or thereabouts. Thanks, Bucko - Bucko - 04-01-2003 I'm just now starting to drink my 94s. - barnesy - 04-02-2003 cradle robber - Thomas - 04-02-2003 barnsey, a name from the past!!! - barnesy - 04-02-2003 Yeah, I've been pretty busy the last while with work. Been slingin' beer and wine all over the bars, taverns, and restuarants of east Portland where I am affectionately known as the "Pabst Man." I'll be hangin' around once again. Just wasn't spending any internet time. Good to be back, Barnesy - winoweenie - 04-02-2003 I'll tell all the kids,,," Barney Be Back " WW |
