We visited this winery last summer, spending some time with one of the founders, Laurie Lewis, who has the corporate title of "Wine Goddess," which should tell you something about their lack of pretention. Generally speaking, they do a good job marketing to the young, female, hipster crowd, though they do make some serious wines, particularly their Reserve Pinot Noir.

This wine is a NV blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 19% Zin, and 4% Syrah, the fruit coming from S. Oregon's Umpqua and Rogue Valleys, with a bit coming from the Columbia Valley in Washington. They source the fruit from all over, make their blends, then create some fun wines with the leftovers. This wine smells like a Christmas candle, and it tastes like you would think a Christmas candle would taste, assuming (of course) that a Christmas candle was edible. Some residual sugar causes it to lean a bit to the sweeter side, making it an easy choice for the newbie crowd. Fun, though. 12% alc. Ran about $15 at the winery, before the case discount. We put together a mixed case when we visited, out of which we gave a few bottles of this one as "vacation gifts" for some of our friends. The more serious wines, like the aforementioned Pinot and a S. Oregon Syrah, we kept for ourselves, and we kept a few of the less serious ones for "daily drinkers."
