Columbia Valley.

Wierdly, Anne and I had never had anything from this dynamite value producer before a nice visit there during the offline last summer. It just hadn't shown up on any shelves in these parts. Now, however, it's starting to appear here and there. This one was a great value. A deep ruby color, nose and flavors of currant and cherry, and balanced and subdued use of oak. Finished clean, with some silky tannins. Just a well put together wine for $12. 13.5% alc. Great for "during the week" quaffing. Consumed over two nights.

This is what I call "A good burger wine."

Female winemaker at Snoqualmie.

I think her name is Joy Andersen, but the bottle's now gone.

Burgers are indeed what accompanied the wine (veggie burger for me, buffalo burger for Anne).

You are right Dan. It is Joy Andersen. Stevebody thinks highly of her skills and is partial to some of her white wines.
