This Wahluke Slope (Columbia Valley) wine was a pure joy to drink. It was a deeply colored, almost pure purple sitting in the decanter for about 15 minutes. We had intended to let it hang out there for a half hour before pouring, but the room filled with gorgeous blackberry jam aromas with some lavender and peppery spices, and we couldn't help but start drinking it early. The sweet dark berries simply explode in your mouth, but the spiciness, the focused acidity, and the tannic backbone keep it from falling into the flabby category, and some nice earthy notes and black tea mean it isn't a fruit bomb, either. All that having been said, the fruit is the reason to drink it. So wonderfully yummy. Only 13.5% alc., too. We paid about $28 locally. FWIW, WE 88. If you've got it, go ahead and start drinking them.
