I have been wanting to try this NC wine for a while now, but it has been 12-14 bucks and I just didn't want to pay that for a wine produced less than 100 mi. away. But Harris Teeter had it for $9.99 today.
It is a blend of 33% Merlot, 30% Syrah, 27% Sangiovese, 6% Mourvedre & 4% Pinot Noir. It is the best NC wine I have had so far. The smokeyness of the Sangiovese realy comes through. A bold and complex wine to be not that dark of color, sort of a translucent burgandy.
I was told this weekend that Shelton's Cab. won a blind tasting against some of Californias best Cabs. in Calif.

Hi Tankdvd and please have them post these ludicrous tasting notes with ALL the particulars. Like saying an Arizona cab kicked patooties 'ginst Caymus and B.V. The problem is always the same..." You can't make a silk purse outta' a sows ear ". WW

Pardon me WW, I looked back over my notes and I think I miss quoted.
I think what he said was that the people were given the Sheltons Cab. at a Calif. wine tasting, not knowing what they had been given (not that it was going up against the Calif. Cabs.), and they were suprised that it came from NC.

We were told this at the wine and cheese seminar, that was end of the day. And after tasting wines for 4 hours my notes became less ledgable. And my normal writing is worse than my typing.
