- Thomas - 08-23-2004 At $15 this is a nice bargain. Medium body, no green pepper (as in many Loire wines) but snappy and acidic--great for food. Good berry quality and a touch of tannin that will give this an interesting older finish, should I have any remaining that long. A fine first offering of this variety. And it was paired with calves liver with onions, thyme, oregano, and a balsamic/madeira sauce; fried okra and potatoes with some striped beets to round it out. The beets did not go with the wine at all. - wondersofwine - 08-23-2004 In my view beets don't go with anything. (I just don't like them.) - Scoop - 08-23-2004 That was my take on it, too, Foodie. I'll probably end buying the little stock we have left in a wine shop that will remain nameless! Hope you guys have dried out over there, and that you have what we have today -- gorgeous stuff.
