2005 Glenora, Finger Lakes, Dry Riesling ($13.99). Alcohol level: 11%.

Lovely citrus on the nose and upfront. Very nice acid and fruit in the middle, and a lovely finish.

Matched it with salmon cakes, brown rice, and petite peas. All very nice for a Friday night.

Did you make those cakes yourself? Recipe? What did you use as a binder? How much and what type of filler? What type of salmon? Etc......?

Thanks,

mark

Sorry Mark, they were store bought; not frozen but refrigerated. They were good though.

OK,.... You got me excited there. Was hoping to hear of the perfect salmon cake.

Sometimes when Wholefoods has them on sale (at about $1.99 a piece), I'll buy a few and they are pretty good for the amount of work that you put in.

Enjoyed another bottle last night with (store bought) crab cakes, rolls, and salad. Excellante'.

We killed the last bottle of the '05 tonight with (homemade) Veal Burgers, cob on the corn, and salad. Had to arm wrestle true love for the last drop, and she prefers her Riesling off dry!
