- brappy - 06-30-2006 The nose has a some salty grapefruit, a touch of pineapple, all mixed in with some oak although not too powerful. At first, the nose included some ammonia (or cat piss) but with time this blew off. On the palate, the fruit is concentrated, especially the back palate with a mix of Granny Smith apple and crab apple. A nice effort even though the acid takes this wine out of balance a touch. - Innkeeper - 07-01-2006 Is it a Riesling or Chardonnay or what? - brappy - 07-01-2006 Sorry, I guess that might help...... Seyval Blanc - Innkeeper - 07-01-2006 My experience, most Seyvals are oaked, most Vidals are not. - Thomas - 07-01-2006 From the description, sounds like that Seyval has a little Vignoles blended into it, which wouldn't be uncommon. |
