2002 Hermann J. Wiemer, Finger Lakes, Dry Johannisberg Riesling ($13 before discount at winery). .09 Residual Sugar; 11.5 % alcohol. This is a quintessential Finger Lakes Riesling. It is very competitive with the best M-S-R Kabinett Rieslings. This means it is actually “off-dry”, but still wonderful. Elegantly rich and sumptuous on the nose, it gives somewhat muted apple and pear fruit on the nose and upfront. Develops into more richness, elegance, and smooth complexity, along with delightful crispness cross the palate; and it ends in a bell ringing finish. Love it.

It matched perfectly with broiled sea scallops and salad in blue cheese dressing. Happy Friday everybody!!

Another bottle with homemade hot turkey sandwiches (much better than HoJo's). Went wonderfully.
