2006 Glenora, Riesling, Finger Lakes ($14.99). Alcohol level: 11%. As most of you know, Gene's "regular" Riesling reminds you of his competitors' "semi-sweet." That is fine with us. If you want dryer he also makes an excellent Dry Riesling.

This one gave apples, pears, and peaches on the nose and upfront. Nicely balanced and complex in the middle with more fruit, acid, and honey in the mix. Very lovely finish.

We matched it with smoked turkey, rolls, and all the stuff the kids brought. Everyone who imbibed loved the wine.

It's a very nice bottle especially at this price point! only one bottle left from last summer's take.

So, order some more.

Eng.... I don't detect the proper aamount of groveling in KCs post. Make the dude at least say " Pretty Please ". WW

The price of the currently available vintage of both Rieslings ('07) has gone up a dollar, just as the '06 was a dollar more than the '05. Everything is getting more expensive.

WW, What groveling??? If we sold Glenora wines I might grovel, but we don't. So, Eng has to to bite the bullet if he wants more and call Gene.

We had another bottle tonight with sauted boneless pork chops, peas, and rolls. Excellent.

Oh..see that my traveling days are causing me to miss some posts..

We are actually thinking about going there again at the end of summer. We had such a great time there that I might be able to schedule something. When plans are more set, I'll bug Gene. (Just so much work travel lately.......I need a new job).
