2003 Trenel Fils, Beaujolais-Villages ($8.99 Chambers Street). It doesn't say anything on the bottle about this wine being unfiltered or anything like that, but this is the only Gamay based wine we have ever had that threw a heap of sediment. After pouring the first glass, we ran the rest through the decanter filter and cought all the crud. Once past all that it turned out to be a lovely late evening quaffer with wife and son-in-law. Daughter and family were up for a big yard sale this weekend.

This one of the those really big '03s. Gives you gobs of black cherries on the nose and upfront. Rich, rich complexity across the middle leaving you wondering if this wasn't a Pinot in disguise. The finish lingered almost like a big Zin. We have another to try with food next time, but recommend it for easy drinking with a plus in the meantime.
