"Cuvee Traditionnelle" vieilles vignes

Another nice '05 Beaujolais, though not quite as good as the Duboeuf I posted on earlier in the week. Bright, clear ruby in color, with a traditional grapey Gamay nose. Tastes like what a Beaujolais is supposed to taste like, but there is just a tad more body and concentration than what is typical. Nice summer sipper; it's better a bit chilled. As stated above, it isn't going to be an instant case purchase like the recent Duboeuf, but it does continue to reinforce my belief that '05 is strong across-the-board for Beaujolais. Alc. a surprisingly low 12%, considering the heavier body. Ran about $12 locally.
